KANDINSKY FOR KIDS- Even as a child Wassily Kandinsky was more interested in the use of color to express emotion than he was in making objects look real. As Kandinsky grew as an artist his work evolved from realistic images to more abstract lines and shapes of color until his objects were no longer recognizable.
1st Lesson Objective will show how to set up a palette and blend primary colors to create secondary and complimentary colors
Kandinsky was trying to create the same effect with his paintings as a beautiful piece of symphony music gave it's listener. He wanted his viewers to feel the emotion of the painting by the expressive way he used color, line, shape and form to tell the story with expressed emotion. In the musical piece "Flight of the Bumblebee" the listener can feel the whirling path of the Bumblebee swirling and flying swiftly to his destination driven by the desire to deliver his message on time. Kandinsky's objective in his paintings were the same except with a visual use of color, line, shape and form.
2nd Objective will use classical music and guided instruction to inspire the use of color, line, shape and form to tell a story expressed with a feeling of emotion.
